'Reindeer on the Mantelpiece' is the collective title for this body of work
The sentimental value of certain belongings, the hand-me-downs from previous generations and the oddities we collect all contribute to the portrait of ourselves. Collectively, these portray a sense of belonging within an environment and it is the idea of looking at the home as a portrait that has led to this visual exploration.
Through the use of photography I have been able to reveal a quiet record of the spaces that we live in, with the hope to capture and preserve the memory of a home and its occupant.
